She bought her husband a cell phone.  He ran up a $3,000 phone bill calling his girlfriends.   They are divorced now. He still calls his ex, telling her how much he loves her.

"Why don't they make phones that float?" the financier asked me plaintively. He keeps dropping his phone in the toilet.

In a rough punk rock bar in Nakano I saw a drunk girl snap her phone in half.  She fell to the floor: distraught; she had just destroyed her world.

When cell phones first came out, users were called the "thumb tribe" because they frantically exercised that digit mailing each other.   Now the term is archaic.

High school students bow to an empty field after their baseball practice to thank the field for an accident free rehearsal.

I observed a young man bowing to a video game machine before playing it.

People bow on public telephones while talking, but bowing on cell phones is rare.

"Telephone clubs" or "Terekura" are assignation sites where guys rent a room with a phone, waiting for hookers to call to discuss preferences, prices and place.  

"Delivery health" on the other hand, is where the john orders out, and the woman "delivers" herself to his location.

Having achieved the summit of Mt. Tsukuba, he watched TV on his cell phone.

Novels are sent, a chapter at a time, to cell phone subscribers.  Recipients interact with the author, suggesting modifications to the story. Very popular cell phone novels are published; in paper.

Bank teller icons on ATMs bow on the screen when your business has finished. 

Cameras on phones buzz just before the shot is taken.  The "pervert alarm" was added to prevent sneak shots.
